A Texas Ranger has joined investigators with the Beeville Police Department in the search for two robbers who hit a bank and convenience store here earlier this week. The first robbery occurred here when a lone black man walked into the International Bank of Commerce at 802 E. Houston St. at about 9:20 a.m. Monday.

Interim Superintendent Erasmo Rodriguez began his first Beeville Independent School District board meeting Tuesday evening with money on his mind. Fortified by a basket-full of Protein Mix and Cracker Jacks, a full board attending the special budget workshop enthusiastically endorsed Rodriguez's call for across-the-board pay raises for BISD employees-including raising the hourly wage-and lowering the district's 2015-2016 tax rate.

Deputies called to help Live Oak with bailout

Bee County deputies were busy last week helping other agencies. The first incident occurred around 10 p.m. this past Thursday when deputies were requested by those at the Live Oak County Sheriff's Office to assist one of their deputies with a bailout on Farm-to-Market Road 534, located off FM Road 796 on Bee County's west end.

Tip leads deputies to stolen tractor, vehicles, counterfeiting evidence

Officers from Live Oak and Bee counties investigated a tip they received this week regarding some stolen property being kept on land north of Beeville and recovered several items. Live Oak County Sheriff's Office Investigator Dan Caddell initially received a report from a Live Oak County resident reporting that someone had taken his Kubota tractor with a front end loader attached to the machine, and a utility vehicle from his property on County Road 114.
